The aim of managed web hosting and domain name registration is to try and make it a convenience for your business to not have to worry about it.

Managed Website Hosting

As the majority of the websites designed and developed are using WordPress as the CMS, BJ2DESIGN offers client managed web hosting which includes keeping WordPress and any plugins up to date. The web hosting also includes making & keeping back-ups of the website to another storage location.

As WordPress (normal for a CMS) is recommended to be kept up to the lastest version to help with performance and security. At times in future some unforeseen additional work may be required to WordPress and your theme to work smoothly, so if any work was necessary this would be priced before making the changes and you would be notified before any work was started.

Email Accounts – POP Only

It also includes setting up of up to five email accounts though only by using POP.

What is a POP account?

What it does is once you download your email it then needs to be set to delete the emails from the web server. Which basically means that the emails get downloaded and saved to your computer, not on the web hosting account.

POP3 does not coordinate with the server (where the website is stored). Messages that the mail application marks as read, deleted, or replied to will not show up as such on the server. This means that future mail downloads with POP3 will show all messages as unread.

An IMAP email account will let you store the emails you send and receive on the server and update any device which has the email account set up on.

Domain Registration

Domain names are registered for a period of two years for a flat fee of $90.00 for .com.au or a .com domain.

An ABN or company number along with a person to be registered as the owner will also be needed for the .com.au domain registration.
